The most breathtaking photo safari....

I don't know of a more beautiful place for a photo safari than Botswana. Here, you get so close to the wildlife that your heart starts racing with excitement and adrenaline. There are places where you have to give elephants the right of way on the road if you want to get to another spot in the camp.

At night, when you hear the slightest sound, you feel like that elephant, breaking branches as it walks, is charging directly toward you. The roar of a lion, which sounds unbelievably close, creates the impression that it is standing just a few meters behind your tent. In the morning, you inspect the tracks of animals that passed by near you. The thought that only the thin walls of your tent separate you from the night’s wilderness evokes a strange mix of tension, curiosity, respect, and awe – that such a thing even exists.

There are places where, while showering, you observe the starry sky, and places where an elephant curiously stretches out its trunk, as if wanting to drink water. You watch the fascinating behavior of animals, their hierarchy, but at the same time, you become a witness to the cruelty of nature.

A lion, with its face covered in blood, tries to reach the best pieces of meat. Vultures circle around, patiently waiting for their turn. In the distance, you see the half-submerged carcass of an elephant in the river. You drive closer to the bush and among the shrubs, you spot a baby hippo – probably a victim of a fight. In the heat of 45°C, you know that without the chance to submerge in water, it won’t survive until evening.

The entire time, you move through the very heart of the wilderness, where you are a living witness to its strength, beauty, but also the relentless cruelty and reality."
